วันนี้นำเอาปัจจัยและคุกกี้ หนังสือธรรมะ ไปแจกให้กับครูและเด็กนักเรียน โรงเรียนบ้านดวด ๑๘๐ คน ในเทศกาล ส่งท้ายปีเก่า ต้อนรับปีใหม่ และวันเด็ก เหมารวมไปในงานเดียวกันเลย
พร้อมทั้งนำไอศกรีมกะทิสด ๑ ถังใหญ่ ให้เด็กๆ ลูกหลานของชาวสวนยาง และชาวประมงพื้นบ้าน ให้เขาได้มีโอกาสลิ้มรส คุกกี้ ไอศกรีม เหมือนๆ กับเด็กในเมืองบ้าง
ด้วยเพราะเด็กพวกนี้ พ่อแม่ ผู้ปกครอง ต้องปากกัดตีนถีบ ออกเรือไป หาปู หาปลาทะเล มาขายในตลาด
แต่ก็เป็นเวลาร่วม ๓ เดือนมาแล้ว ที่พวกเขาไม่ได้ออกเรือไปหาปลา เพราะมีคลื่นลมแรง
ถามชาวบ้านเขาว่า แล้วอยู่กันอย่างไร?
เขาตอบว่า หลายคนที่มีอาชีพประมงพื้นบ้าน ก็จะลำบากหน่อย เพราะขาดรายได้ ต้องกินเงินเก่า หรือไม่ก็ไปขอกู้เจ้าของแพปลามากินก่อน พอจับปูปลาได้ ค่อยมาใช้หนี้เขา หรือไม่ก็ไปรับจ๊อบขายแรงงาน แต่ช่วงนี้ไม่มีใครจ้าง เพราะภัยโควิด
ส่วนใครพอมีที่ดินทำสวน ก็จะไม่ค่อยเดือดร้อน เพราะเมื่อออกเรือจับปลาไม่ได้ ก็ยังพอเก็บผลปาล์มหรือกรีดยางขายได้
เรียกว่า ชีวิตยังไม่สิ้น ก็ต้องดิ้นกันต่อไป

Apart from COVID-19 pandemic, there is also harm from strong winds and waves.

Today, I have given some money, cookies, Dhamma books to teachers and 180 students of Banduad School in Chumphon province, on occasion of new year and Children's Day altogether.
I have also brought a big bucket of coconut ice cream to children of rubber planters and local fishermen so that they have an opportunity to eat cookies and ice cream like urban children.
Parents of these children live from hand to mouth. They capture crabs and fish and sell them in the market.
It has been over three months that they cannot take the boats out to catch fish because of strong wind and rough water.
I asked how they make a living.
They replied that several of them who are fishermen live in difficulty. These fishermen lack income and live on their savings, whereas some of them ask for loans from fish wholesalers. Whenever they can catch some crabs and fish, they will pay the money back. Some of them become laborers but no one hire them right now because of COVID-19.
Those who own lands don’t have much problem. When they cannot catch fish, they can harvest oil palm or collect latex from rubber trees.
Namely, when we are still alive, we must struggle for survival.
